I’m Alexis Villarreal. I live in Las Vegas, where I design the future.

Growing up, I was always interested in computers. I remember my dad letting me use his old iMac G3. The transparent blue was always a highlight as you can sometimes see the insides of the computer. Since then I was always interested in what computers could do.

The only thing I loved more than computers as a kid was of course video games. Specifically the Final Fantasy series. My first Final Fantasy game was Final Fantasy IX. I was around kindergarten and of course I could not get very far. But since then I have been obsessed with the series and its beautiful stories and entrancing music.

As I got older I wasn’t really sure what I wanted to do with my life. I tried getting into forensic science. It was really interesting going from lifting fingerprinting, to blood splatter analysis, and the intense photography. However it was in my senior year of high school that I took an AP computer science class. I loved it. I learned a lot about computers and programming. I also learned about the internet and how to use it. From then I knew I wanted to be a software engineer.

Today, I’m working at CCSD, where we’re working on giving students and staff the tools they need to be succsessful in their careers. As an older brother, I relate a lot to CCSD slogan, We are CCSD. No matter what, I will always be there to help.
